Water is the prime need to maintain life, whether for vegetation or for human consumption. Water is essential for all cells in the body, and is essential for the economic well-being of society. Here at Sbenati Dentistry, we take the value of water very seriously. One of the main reasons is that many people donât have access to clean water. As a matter of fact, one in eight people in the world lack access to safe water (1). Believe it or not, there are more people in the world that own cell phones than access to a toilet (1).
Clearly, water means different things to different people. But there is no denying that without water life cannot be sustained. Today, 22 March 2021 is World Water Day, which is a day that allows us to focus on celebrating water and raising awareness of the global water crisis (2).
So what has Sbenati Dentistry done?
In order to stay environmentally friendly, reduce our water use and improve water management we perform the following…
- In all the bathrooms, we have sensor-activated water taps. This means water is controlled and only activated when needed.
- Lexa instrument sterilization unit is one of the most advanced sterilization units on the market. As such it uses very little distilled water and is built to maximize the efficiency of water usage during the sterilization cycles.
- Taps in each treatment room are activated by foot pedal only, which means water is only used when needed and the unnecessary flow of water is virtually eliminated.
- One of key values is conservation of energy, which includes water. We consciously do our best to conserve water whenever we use it.
